On October 1, Osh State University held a discussion on the historical role and legacy of Alymbek Datka, Kurmanjan Datka and Kamchybek in the history of Osh.

The scientific conference was attended by representatives of the city and regional authorities, scholars, historians, ethnographers, lecturers and students. The participants discussed the preservation and restoration of historical sites. It was noted that the area where the current detention facility is located once housed a “Caravanserai” built for travelers and merchants.

OshSU proposed restoring the “Kamchybek House”, which belonged to Kamchybek, the son of Alymbek Datka, and using it as a museum. The participants also considered possibilities for researching, preserving and restoring the site.

The scientific conference was organized by the Institute of History and Law of OshSU. Its aim is to conduct in-depth research into the role of Alymbek Datka, Kurmanjan Datka and Kamchybek in the history of Osh and to promote their legacy among the public.
